Sodalite is a rich blue mineral, often patterned with white calcite and occasionally displaying shades of grey, green or violet.

To me, Sodalite represents the connection between knowledge and application; not simply understanding something intellectually, but learning how to put that understanding into practice in everyday life.

It is strongly associated with self-knowledge and pattern recognition. Sodalite reminds us to examine our thoughts, habits and reactions, becoming aware of patterns we may otherwise repeat without recognizing them. Through greater understanding of ourselves, we can also become more perceptive and compassionate toward the behaviour and perspectives of others.

For this reason, I associate Sodalite with teachers, guides and instructors; people whose role requires them not only to possess knowledge, but to understand others well enough to communicate that knowledge meaningfully.

Sodalite also represents our inner compass: the quiet sense of knowing that helps us determine which direction feels right when logic alone does not provide an obvious answer. Intuition and reason do not always need to oppose one another; sometimes our best decisions emerge when we allow both to inform us.

It is a beautiful symbol of discernment, self-knowledge, direction and the wisdom to recognize patterns within ourselves and the world around us.
