Selenite is a transparent crystalline variety of gypsum, a soft calcium sulfate mineral containing water within its crystal structure. Its luminous, almost ethereal appearance has made it one of the most recognizable minerals in the crystal world.

To me, Selenite embodies light, purity and peace.

LIGHT & PEACE

There is something naturally tranquil about Selenite. Light passes through its long, silky crystals with an almost glowing appearance, reminding me of stillness, cleanliness and illumination.

I love Selenite for creating a peaceful atmosphere in the home, particularly in spaces used for rest, prayer, meditation or reflection. Its simplicity reminds me to become quiet.

Sometimes peace begins by intentionally creating space for it.

ANGELS & SPIRITUALITY

Selenite has always carried a strong angelic symbolism for me.

Its white, luminous appearance naturally evokes angels, heaven and divine light. I associate it with prayer and those quiet moments when we turn our attention away from the distractions of everyday life and toward God.

It also represents spiritual protection; something I find meaningful to keep within spaces dedicated to prayer, contemplation and sleep.

CLEANSING

I strongly associate Selenite with cleansing.

For me, cleansing can be as simple as creating a physical ritual that marks the release of what feels heavy.

Opening a window. Cleaning a room. Taking a bath. Praying. Sitting quietly. Passing a piece of Selenite around the body or through a space with the intention of leaving behind the emotional weight of the day.

The ritual itself creates a moment to consciously say:

I don't need to carry this any further tonight.

THE VIRTUE OF SELENITE

Selenite represents purity, tranquillity and returning to stillness.

Keep it somewhere peaceful. Hold it during prayer or meditation.
