Cleavelandite is a platy to tabular variety of Albite, a sodium-rich feldspar. It commonly occurs in pegmatites alongside minerals such as Quartz, Mica and Tourmaline, often forming delicate white or colourless bladed crystals.
To me, Cleavelandite represents change approached with gentleness.
Not every transformation needs to arrive through force or upheaval. Some changes happen gradually as we adjust to circumstances, release what no longer belongs in our lives and become more comfortable with what comes next.
I associate Cleavelandite particularly with transitional periods; those uncomfortable spaces where something familiar has ended but whatever will replace it has not fully taken shape.
Its delicate, layered crystal formations remind me that growth can happen incrementally. We do not always need to know exactly where a transition will lead in order to continue moving through it.
Cleavelandite reminds me to meet change with a positive outlook while also allowing myself the time necessary to adapt. Discomfort is sometimes simply part of becoming accustomed to something new.
There is strength in gentleness, and resilience does not always need to look like fighting.
A symbol of gentle change, renewal, acceptance and growing through life's transitions.
