Cavansite is a rare calcium vanadium silicate mineral best known for its brilliant blue colour and distinctive crystal clusters, most famously found in India.
To me, Cavansite represents the relationship between insight and expression; not only recognizing what we believe to be true, but developing the confidence and clarity necessary to put it into words.
I strongly associate Cavansite with intuition and inner knowing. Sometimes we understand something before we are capable of explaining exactly why we understand it. Reflection, knowledge and discernment help us examine those impressions more carefully, separating genuine insight from assumption and eventually finding language for what we have perceived.
For this reason, Cavansite reminds me of the pursuit of truth and wisdom. Truth is not simply whatever we happen to feel in a particular moment; it requires curiosity, humility and a willingness to continually refine our understanding.
Cavansite also represents having the courage to communicate honestly during difficult conversations. There is a difference between conviction and hostility. We can stand our ground, say what we think and express how we feel without abandoning respect for the person standing across from us.
I particularly associate Cavansite with writers, teachers and speakers, anyone whose work requires taking an idea, observation or piece of knowledge and communicating it clearly enough that another person can understand it.
A symbol of truth recognized within, examined with discernment and expressed with clarity.
